Ian Stringer

Ian is a chartered surveyor who has over 40 years’ experience in the property sector.  Ian’s career started in 1983 at Grimley and Son and he has stayed with the business in its various incarnations throughout his entire career, during which, he acted as Regional Managing Director for the Midlands office for over a decade whilst also heading up the UK Offices Team and UK Markets Division.  During a total of 22 years on the company’s board, Ian was elected by the partners as Non-Executive Chairman and served in this capacity from 2005-2008 until GVA was incorporated.  Ian currently serves as Principal of Avison Young, following its acquisition of Bilfinger GVA in 2018 and spends much of his time in a client advisory capacity.
