Appointment of Non-executive Director

 

Real Estate Investors Plc (AIM: RLE), the UK’s only Midlands-focused Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) with a portfolio of 1.59 million sq ft of investment property across all sectors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Stringer to the board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 28 May 2021.

Ian is a chartered surveyor who has nearly 40 years’ experience in the property sector, and is highly respected across the Midlands property market, with a first-class reputation for consultancy and agency skills.

Ian’s career started in 1983 at Grimley and Son and he has stayed with the business in its various incarnations throughout his entire career, during which, he acted as Regional Managing Director for the Midlands office for over a decade whilst also heading up the UK Offices Team and UK Markets Division.  During a total of 22 years on the company’s board, Ian was elected by the partners as Non-Executive Chairman and served in this capacity from 2005-2008 until GVA was incorporated.  Ian currently serves as Principal of Avison Young, following its acquisition of Bilfinger GVA in 2018 and spends much of his time in a client advisory capacity as Asset and Property Manager to The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham, a 400-year-old foundation.
